Hubby and I decided that the almost 20 yr old carpet HAD TO GO. We read up on all the different types of flooring and decided the Allure plank flooring would be the easiest and most beautiful to put in the RV. Lots of RVer's have used it and all have had good experience with it.
We decided to go with the Teak finish and measured out the RV. We bought 1 extra box so we had enough for cut offs.
It took a bit of muscle to get the carpet out and what was under it was 20 years of sand and dirt!
ALSO....I want to add, when I say "we" I really mean my hubby and his brother occasionally.....I pretty much stayed out of the way on this one! I just kept sticking my head in taking pictures!

More and more sand |
We left the carpet on top of the slide but removed it from underneath. It wasn't easy and then we noticed we needed new molding on the slide as we can now see outside. The molding needed to be replaced long ago but the carpet was blocking us seeing it. Yet another project!

Trying to figure out what to do with the slide |
As we start laying the floor, we realize it will shift. The box says we don't need glue but because this is an RV and we are driving our "home", we decided to use glue. This made it much easier as where we lay the planks, it stayed!
There were quite a few cuts and you can do it with some really strong scissors, but hubby just used his chop saw. We staggered the planks to make it look more natural and once we got going, it went pretty fast.

Almost to dinette |
Next we had to take out the dinette to finish the floor. It took a bit, but we got it out. We then decided that we wanted to rebuild all of this so we can accommodate our dogs underneath them. Plus, due to an old leak, the wall was compromised and needed new wood and to be repainted. That is another post!
Down the hallway and into the bathroom. Lots more cuts and removal of the toilet and this really weird box. Well, the weird box was covering the pipe coming from the sink. So hubby cleaned around the hole and then sprayed foamer in the hole and it surrounded the pipe. Now no mice can come in. He is going to rebuild the box but we haven't gotten to that yet.
That is pretty much it. It too a good full weekend to do and we are thrilled with the results! As always, we welcome comments and questions!
it looks great. we took our dining booth out and replaced it with table and 4 chairs so the carpet had to go
