The RV Renovations Blog - RV Rev Up!

Camping World

Since my hubby and I bought a "new to us" RV this year (replacing the one we had), we have been deep in renovations.  Not crazy ones yet, just some updates.  I have gotten lots of questions and thought, "Why don't I just blog about it so others can get inspired?" So, Here it is!  My RV Renovations blog or RV Rev Up as I am calling it after my little German Shepherd, Rev.

Here is our "New" Girl:
At a rest area when we were driving her home!
She is a 1997 Gulf Stream Conquest, 32 feet with a living room slide.  We are so very excited as our last RV was 27ft, had no back bedroom (it was remodeled for the dogs) and no slide.  She was a cute little thing but after Shawn and I got bitten by the motor homing bug we decided we wanted an upgrade.  he talked about what we HAD to HAVE (a living room slide, a chair in living area where dog crates would go, awning) and what we LIKE to HAVE (more then 1 slide, basement storage, leveling jacks, backup camera, etc...).  We had a price range and every year we just kept looking, knowing the right one would come along...and it did.  We got all our MUST haves and a few of our Like to haves.
Since we felt we would be in her for a few years, we also decided to renovate her a bit.  Just some easy stuff at first and then maybe getting into some more time consuming jobs.  (It does help that hubby is a carpenter by trade!)  So first thing we did was a total and absolute clean up.  It has been sitting for 4 years in rural Virginia so there were LOTS and LOTS of stink bugs.  Those things are unbelievable!  They were everywhere... Thank You Vacuum!

Living room on day 1 of clean up
So now we are renovating her.  Unfortunately I did not take as many pics of before as I should have but you get the jest of it.  Here are a few:
another front view.  We had already taken the chair out in front of the window.

And another view

the view into the bedroom from the living room

So watch here for renovation updated and how-tos as we embark on this adventure!
